Inside Dyson’s new engineering centre at Cambridge University

Sir James Dyson is speaking on the eve of the launch of the new Dyson Centre for Engineering Design at Cambridge University, a new building that has been constructed with a £8m grant from his charitable arm, the Dyson Foundation.

Among the Cambridge students that are benefitting from the new centre is Aurelia Hibbert, an undergraduate engineer who has helped develop a hi-tech solar-powered car.

Evolution, the Cambridge University Eco Racing project’s fifth model, completed 2,047km across the Australian outback last year, and is unlike any other solar vehicle ever made.
