Senior Buyer – Supply Chain

As Senior Buyer the key purpose of the role is to ensure that the companies purchasing needs are fully met.

The key responsibilities of this role will be negotiating short-term transactional relationships and to negotiate and maintain long-term strategic contracts with suppliers, to prepare, define and execute innovative purchasing strategies, in order to deliver the required value, supporting technical negotiations with suppliers and managing the supplier relationship and performance.

You will also be responsible for cost savings on current business, and cost avoidance on future programmes, supporting all aspects of the business in commercial activities and change management, as well as developing current and future new product strategies with Engineering to optimise costs. As a Senior Buyer you will be required to think and act with commercial awareness and will use this skill across all functions of the business.

Essential skills for this role include, having strong buying and negotiating expertise, interpersonal and influencing skills, an ability to react to changing market dynamics, proven ability to reduce costs, a strong sense of ‘business acumen’ and analytical skills, excellent stakeholder management, with a proven track record of strong successful commercial negotiations; you will have experience in supplier relationship management and will have good project management skills.

As travelling and meeting with suppliers and customers is an essential part of this role, therefore a full driving licence will be required.

Desirable skills include, having an automotive or manufacturing background, an understanding of cost drivers throughout a manufacturing environment, experience of dealing with global companies and being CIPS qualified or equivalent.

Warranty Administrator – Quality

The key purpose of this role is to complete the administration of the day to day activity of the warranty department.

Key responsibilities include: data entry of internal & external information into the in-house warranty database, create reports and graphs to demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of the warranty department. The successful candidate will be expected to liaise with other departments to aid the coordination of supporting activity, complete quality and warranty documentation as required, take meeting minutes and document action plans as required.

Essential skills include: the successful candidate having advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to produce clear and accurate technical reports to an extremely high standard, alongside being a good communicator.
