Junior Support Engineer – EDM

The key purpose of this role is to support the delivery of projects within the Business, you will be liaising with both internal teams and our customers to ensure project delivery is well received and effective, be responsible for the efficient closure on non-engineering tasks, and preparing high quality detailed product documents to continually support Production, Engineering and Manufacturing.

Key responsibilities of this role will include, the compilation, planning, procurement and delivery of engineering test and development properties and components. Supporting the delivery of programmes, from the initial stages through to verification and validation phases and arranging meetings to manage & mediate all aspects of the release of geometry at gateways, delivering a leadership vehicle when compared to competitors.  You will maintain all data, to ensure that it is up to date for management to be able to run status programme reviews for report out events, control and monitor project and programme budgets and you will support the Programme teams in providing data management activities to meet the client’s requirements using Bill of Materials (BoM), Cost trackers and Change Requests.

This role offers an opportunity to candidates who wish to learn and develop their skills and take an introductory step into the world of engineering.

Essential skills for this role include, having a proven ability in using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, being well organised and able to work with minimal supervision but confident to ask questions, and good problem solving ability. You must have excellent communication skills, with the confidence to chair and attend meetings.

Desirable skills include, having automotive industry experience and a full clean driving licence, as some off site work may be required. Experience in document control, management changes, and dealing with engineering documentation would be beneficial but not essential.

Senior Engineer – Structures Group

The key purpose of this role is to deliver efficient engineering design solutions for internal and external customers. To interface with design and analysis sub-teams, manufacturing and projects teams and to support Engineers within your team, leading and guiding them by example. The primary role of the Senior Engineer shall be to take ownership of a commodity and drive from start to finish of the design process.

Key responsibilities will include; leading the full design and development of CAD, administration activity; BOM (Bill of Materials), DVP (Design Verification Plan), Family Tree and Release activity in-line with PENSO NPI process and customer specific process. You will also be expected to mentor and support the engineers within your team with your experience and knowledge. Support idea generation and problem resolution through day-to-day working and structured design reviews, work closely with Engineering Analysts (FEA) to meet design targets, driving the most cost effective solutions, and work with Manufacturing to agree feasible manufacturing solutions and to control the engineering change process. The role will also involve communicating design solutions to internal stakeholders and external customers, and supporting project manages to ensure that project deliverables are achieved.

Essential skills for this role include, holding an Engineering degree or equivalent in a related subject, an understanding of CAD and CAE literacy, as well as engineering design knowledge. You will have an understating of the importance of engineering change requests and claim management, strong communication and organisational skills, a drive to learn with a professional attitude and the discipline to follow technical administrational procedures.

Desirable skills include, holding a master’s degree, CAD experience and an understanding of budget management.
